Blue Mountain Reservation

Being about a 8 minute drive away from River Outpost, Blue Mountain Reservation is the perfect local to hike! This Park has several trails that intersect each other, which can cause some confusion, so we highly recommend getting a map prior or during your visit. The trails range from a 3-mile loop to a 12-mile loop, depending on which you pick. Great for trail walking, biking.

Anthony’s Nose

Anthony’s Nose is a 2 mile in-and-out moderately difficult trail located near Peekskill, NY. It has beautiful vistas of the Hudson river with a glorious view of the Bear Mountain Bridge at the peak. The trail is very popular so get there early!

Arden Point

Arden Point is a 4 mile system of easy trails located in Garrison, NY. There is not much of an elevation gain but perfect for trail running or a family walk. Lots of pretty places to sit by the Hudson River and think about what your going to eat at River Outpost! About a 15 minute drive from Factoria.

Bear Mountain

Bear Mountain Trail is a 4 mile loop located in Bear Mountain State Park. Certain parts can be difficult so bring lots of water and pace yourself! Beautiful views at the top along with the Perkins Memorial Tower. Take the beautifully crafted stone stairs back down which are also part of the Appalacian Trail! Another popular spot so plan ahead and get there early.

Peekskill RiverWalk - Peekskill Landing Park

The closest trail to River Outpost Brewing Co. is none other than the Peekskill RiverWalk itself! What makes this ~2 mile walk so unique is that it connects four of Peekskill’s riverfront parks, allowing people to stroll from Charles Point Park all the way up to Peekskill Landing Park.

Enjoy the sighting of the Bear Mountain Bridge from the Charles Point Park next to River Outpost, as well as the scenic views of the Hudson River throughout the RiverWalk.

Mount Beacon

Located about 30 minutes north of River Outpost, Mount Beacon is a must when you are visiting the Hudson Valley. You start off on the Casino Trail (a roughly 2 mile loop), which is a steep, zigzagging incline all the way up to the ruins of the Mount Beacon Incline Railway and the Beacon Fire Tower. Be sure to bring some water and a snack, and don’t be shy about taking frequent breaks! While this trail is short, the climb is difficult; however, the views are worth it.
